Marli joined Gesher School in September 2018 and is the Head of Kodesh as well as our KS1 Classroom Teacher in Seorah Class. Originally from Toronto, Canada, Marli graduated from Western University Canada having received a Bachelors of Arts, specialising in Anthropology with a specific focus on Biological and Sociocultural Anthropology. Marli subsequently went on to receive her Bachelors of Education from York University, during which she also received an additional qualification in Special Needs Education. Marli has experience working in a range of both mainstream and special educational settings over the last 10 years. As a Classroom Teacher, she is focused on making learning accessible, immersive and fun so that every student can succeed and thrive!
In her role as our Head of Kodesh, Marli leads our Kodesh Team to support the students in cultivating a love for, and awareness of, Jewish heritage, culture and values. The students are taught to confidently affiliate with their Jewish identity, whilst also showing respect and building knowledge of other beliefs, practices and customs that surround them. Above all, Marli strives to ensure that the students at Gesher develop not only a love for Judaism, but learn to embrace the values that make our religion so special.
Marli is currently on maternity leave after the arrival of her first child. We look forward to seeing her back soon.
