We’ve have a very busy week in Seorah Class! The students are starting to really settle in to their new classroom, and are beginning to build new friendships which is amazing to see.
We started our official lessons this Monday, and have been working exclusively within the ‘All About Me’. This week, the students shared their likes and dislikes with their peers, and started learning how to use descriptive words to talk about themselves. We finished the week by looking our ‘Seorah Families’ and the students were able to describe their families to their friends.
In Maths we’ve been working in three different groups. Some of us have been mastering our addition and subtraction skills, working on number bonds up to 20 and partitioning up to 3, while others were focused on differentiating between ‘more’ and ‘less’ and ‘adding one more’ to a group of objects.
On Wednesday we were joined by SEED for an exciting Rosh Hashanah Activity. The students created Bee, Apple and Honey stick puppets for their Rosh Hashanah celebrations – we would love to see photos on your child’s work at your tables over the holiday if you’re happy to share! We were also lucky to have Rabbi Yoni Birnbaum join us for our Oneg Shabbat on Friday to blow the shofar just in time for Rosh Hashanah! The students loved it – some of them even had a go of their own!
Wishing you all a Chag Sameach, Shana Tova and health & happiness for the new year.
