A Gesher story for Yom Kippur

Gesher wishes all of its families as well as the wider community well over the fast.

At this time of year children with special educational needs may struggle with the change to their normal routine and the challenges of a busy time. Here is a story we have written at Gesher to help children manage the predictability of Yom Kippur and help alleviate some anxiety.

For more information and tips on inclusivity for synagogues please read this article published in The JC and written by Gianna Colizza, Gesher’s head teacher.

With thanks to J Gateways for allowing us to reproduce their imagery in the story.

Great article. A social story about visiting the synagogue would be amazing for me as my son struggles at the synagogue. Thanks so much and good kuck with the school. I wish my son was younger and could go!! xx
